Hodgson Plumbing & Gas is a locally owned and operated plumbing business founded by Dave Hodgson in 2022. We provide a range of plumbing services in the Bay of Plenty area, from residential to rural and commercial. Dave has a wealth of knowledge, a passion for plumbing and an award-winning title on his belt – young plumber of the year finalist.
Hodgson Plumbing & Gas strives to provide a collaborative service where we ask for your input prior to executing the job. We believe communication throughout the process is important and pride ourselves on our attention to detail. We ensure all of our work meets the regulations and strive to leave every job 110% better. No matter how big or small the job, we can help.

Born in the Waikato and raised in Rotorua from the age of 8, Dave founded Hodgson Plumbing and Gas in 2022. With meticulous attention to detail and a drive for excellence, Dave brings a high standard of workmanship, honest communication, and deep technical knowledge across plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying.
When he’s not on site, you’ll find Dave at home on the family farm with Dora and Jasper, working on a new shed project, or out enjoying the outdoors — especially motocross, hunting, and fishing.
Dora
Owner/Admin

Born and raised in Rotorua, Dora met Dave in 2017 and the pair married in 2023. She keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes — managing customer enquiries, scheduling, and day-to-day operations with a calm and friendly approach. Dora is all about clear communication and reliable service, making things easy for both clients and the team.
Outside the office, she enjoys quality time with Dave and Jasper, and loves getting out for walks and hikes in nature.
Jasper

Jasper was born in 2024 and is the heart of the Hodgson Plumbing and Gas family. He’s the reason behind everything we do. Currently in unofficial training to become a plumber, you might spot him on site with Dad from time to time.
Wynand

Originally from Lindequesdrift, South Africa, Wynand moved to New Zealand in 2023 and proudly joined the team that same year. Dedicated and hardworking, Wynand has a real passion for plumbing and drainlaying, with a special interest in hot water cylinder installations.
Fast, efficient, and loyal, he brings strong problem-solving skills to every job. In his free time, Wynand enjoys motocross, fishing, and spending time with friends.
Chris

Born and bred in Rotorua, Chris joined Hodgson Plumbing and Gas in 2024. He has a particular love for drainage — especially on a sunny day — also really enjoys a pipe out on a new build.
Chris takes pride in leaving every site as tidy as he found it, and is always happy to have a chat and answer any questions about the job. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, mountain biking, motocross, and catching up with mates. He looks forward to seeing you on site in the near future.
